Role Overview

We have an immediate opening for an Electromechanical Wiring Technician to work in our electrical assembly department based in Shrewsbury, MA. This is a full-time temp to perm position, Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm. Successful performance and attendance during the initial 90 days will transition into a permanent position. In this role, you will be responsible for the wiring of electrical harnesses, cable assemblies, electrical panels, and cabinets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Soldering and crimping of small gauge wires
  • Electrical assembly of cables, wiring harnesses, electrical sub-panels, and cabinets
  • Electrical testing and troubleshooting defects in electrical assemblies and cables
  • Report failures and defects via company quality processes
  • Ability to cooperate with others in a team effort to achieve quality, safety and productivity goals
  • Ability to work overtime to meet production schedule as needed
  • Follow 5S and lean manufacturing principles and practices in an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment

 

Skills and Requirements

  • Ability to read and understand schematics and technical drawings
  • Proficient with hand crimp tools in the making of cables and/or harnesses
  • Familiar with IPC/WHMA-A-620 Cable & Wiring Harness standards, endorsement preferred
  • Familiar with standard D-subminiature connectors
  • Familiar with machine and cabinet wiring
  • Can work with wires from ranging from 10 to 36 AWG
  • Soldering experience is required, J-STD-001 endorsement preferred
  • Able to work from a sitting or standing position for extended periods of time

 

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Associate degree or technical certificate in a related field preferred
  • US Citizen or Green Card required – evidence of permanent ability to live and work in the US is an employment contingency for this position
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in related field
