Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Senior Production Planner to join our growing team! This individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules, coordinating material flow, and ensuring timely work order execution to meet customer demand. The ideal candidate has strong experience in ERP systems, inventory control, and manufacturing planning, along with a collaborative mindset. This position is based out of our Hopkinton, MA office and is a full-time role, Monday–Friday.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, maintain, and adjust detailed production schedules. 
  • Plan and create work orders based on forecasts, customer orders, and material availability.
  • Ensure raw materials and components are available on time to meet production goals.
  • Release work orders, issue materials to the production floor, and create necessary labels and documentation.
  • Manage material handling and internal movement between departments and external vendors as needed.
  • Monitor inventory levels, adjust planning parameters, and generate purchase requisitions as required.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Purchasing, Production, and Materials Planning teams to align plans with customer and operational needs.
  • Track work order status, drive timely closure, and ensure accurate data entry into the ERP system.
  • Resolve material issues, quality concerns, and shortages with a sense of urgency.
  • Review production changes, constraints, and priorities, adjusting plans as necessary.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in planning, material flow, and inventory management.
  • Interpret engineering documents and collaborate with technical teams to support new builds and product revisions.
  • Take ownership of departmental issues and participate in corrective action planning and implementation.
 
 
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or master scheduling in a manufacturing environment.
  • 4-year degree, preferably in a related discipline.
  • Experience with Infor LN ERP system is a plus. 
  • Familiarity with packaging standards and best practices for sensitive, heavy, large, and/or fragile equipment.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, shipping software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Residency:  US Citizen or Permanent Resident Status is required for this role. 
     
 
 
Office & Travel Expectations (estimated percentage):

This is a full-time, 40 hours per week in-office position in Hopkinton, with regular travel to Auburn. Once we are in our new building in Shrewsbury, travel will be limited.

Travel between local sites is expected 25% of the time until we are in the new building by end of year. Vehicle and valid driver’s license are required.
