As an intern at PI, you would partner with our product development engineers and gain insight into the processes and systems used to deliver our innovative instruments and technology to our customers. Students who enjoy building mechanical + electrical things and are curious about an electrical engineering career in a manufacturing environment are highly encouraged to apply.

What You Will Do: 

  •           Create CAD drawings and schematics for cables, electrical panels, PCB assemblies, and other products.
  •          Fabricate cables, solder components, and test electrical components and systems. 
  •          Complete documentation for CAD drawings and associated BOMS in our ERP system.
  •          Assist the product development team with research for special projects. 
  •           Work on EE integration of mechatronics systems and components through reviewing, updating, and creating wiring schematics and cable drawings.  

 

Requirements:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a full-time academic program from an accredited college or university, majoring in Electrical Engineering or another related field.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without needing sponsorship.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with using SolidWorks CAD. Experience with DraftSight is a plus.
  • Some experience with the manufacturing process and documentation methods is desired but not required.
  • Vocational school in engineering technology or electrical program is highly desirable.

 

Shift Schedule:  

  • Monday-Friday, in office.
  • Students typically work 40 hours a week, but hours can be flexible. All work needs to be conducted during our core business hours; the exact hours can be discussed with your manager.
