We have an immediate opening for a Mechanical Assembly Technician to work in our advanced manufacturing assembly department based out of the Hopkinton, MA location. This is a full-time role, Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm.  This position will be responsible for the build and assembly of precision machinery, automation systems, and motion control systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Mechanical assembly of devices requiring precision alignments and metrology
  • Soldering of small gauge wires (28–36 gauge)
  • Using a microscope for precision alignments and soldering of small devices
  • Interpreting mechanical and technical product drawings and documentation
  • Ability to use standard office applications (Word, Excel, Email)

Skills and Requirements

  • Ability to complete complex mechanical assembly tasks and precision metrology measurements
  • Moderate soldering experience, J-STD-001 preferred
  • Familiarity with precision mechanical alignments, tools and techniques
  • Can use multi-meters, wire strippers, and standard assembly and metrology tools
  • Ability to complete assembly and metrology records for regulatory and QC requirements
  • Use 5S and Lean principles in an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work

Education 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree or technical certificate in a related field preferred
