We have an immediate opening for an Internship - SOLIDWORKS CAD Entry Level currently enrolled students who are self-directed and ambitious, seeking a hands-on entry-level role. The Internship - SOLIDWORKS CAD Entry Level will be based in our Hopkinton MA location, supporting manufacturing operations. The primary function will be SOLIDWORKS CAD support.

 

What You Will Do: 

  •          Prepare detail and assembly drawings for precision motion systems.
  •          Provide general CAD support to design engineers.
  •          Generate 2D CAD drawings from 3D solid model layouts.
  •          Load design information into PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system.
  •          Work on a variety of engineering type projects including building instruments.
  •          Assist our Quality Assurance program with research and implementation of special projects.
  •          This is a hands-on role designed to introduce you to our very cool instruments and technology.

 

What Have You Done: 

  • 0 years of experience.  We will provide hands on training for the right candidate.
  •          Our ideal candidate will be enrolled in school, enjoy working in SOLIDWORKS CAD and/or enjoy building mechanical and electrical things and looking for a start to a career in manufacturing engineering.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Follow 5S and lean manufacturing principles and practices in an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment.
  • US Citizen or Green Card required – evidence of permanent ability to live and work in the US is an employment contingency for this position.
  • Vocational school in engineering technology or metal fabrication highly desirable.
  • Must love to build mechanical things. 
  •          Those currently enrolled Mechanical Engineering with some SOLIDWORKS/CAD experience and who are self-directed and ambitious will have a stronger candidacy.  

 

Additional Details:  

  • Hours are flexible, 25-40 hours a week.
  • All work needs to be conducted during our normal business hours of 8 am – 5 pm Monday to Friday.
